...since I've been eating better last few weeks. I feel fatter now and my belly is bigger than before and I have low grade cramps. What's the deal with that??

Sounds like you're not drinking enough water and try to stay away from really salty foods.0

Maybe you're allergic or sensitive to something you're eating?0

you probably are not eating what is healthy for YOU. people dont realize that what is healthy for me might not be healthy for you! Like for you a banana would be healthy but for me it gives me gas, bloating and diarrhea! Everyone is different! I suggest getting some food tests done to see what your body digests well and it doesnt (IgG test)0 -
Thank you for the comments. I have done a food test and I avoid those foods that cause me reactions (whey, milk, etc).0

Sorry if this is tmi but are you constipated and has it lasted for more than a few days. If the answer is yes I would go to the doctor and add more fiber to my diet.0 -
No not tmi. But my fiber is way up actually. Could that be perhaps causing bloating strangely enough?0

Sounds like the opposite.
OP, I'm assuming you don't track water-- try to. You have days of nearly 40g of fiber. I routinely add and gradually increase fiber at doctor's orders, and I'm not even that high. You can GO that high, but you need to compensate with a hell a lot of water. Especially if you're not "easing" into high fiber--you'll have a day or two under 20g, then WHAM, days of 30+g. I've definitely had the uncomfortable and visible bloating from too much fiber too fast... and you can have this without constipation, too.0 -
I'm OK with whey and milk, but I have to be careful with raw vegetables, and some cooked vegetables like onions, broccoli and legumes otherwise I am bloated for days. Also recently, can't handle deep fried foods anymore (like fish and chips) I get painful bloating.
I haven't really checked with a specialist about that stuff because I generally know what to avoid as well, but I probably should.0 -
Could also be fiber if you're adding a lot of healthy fruits and veggies to your diet
If that's the case, it will take your body a week or so to adjust. Maybe try to notice foods that trigger bloating, like for me, broccoli, peaches and oatmeal do (which stinks coz they're all so good!) Hope this thought helps.

Yeah, too much fiber too soon can give you gas. I think that's the predicament that I'm in today. I ate out and ate junk for a few weeks, and then today I got back on board...
So after some black bean chili, some carrot and celery sticks, a pile of dried apples and dried cranberries...
Ugh!
I hope that tomorrow is a better day.
Fiber is good for you, but you have to ease into it. Furthermore, there are different kinds of fiber (soluble, and insoluble). Fiber Plus bars, for example, have chicory root in them, and they ALWAYS give me horrible gas. Other forms of fiber though, like brown rice or whole wheat pasta, usually don't make me gassy.
Today, I think it was the black beans that I had an issue with, but to be honest, most of what I ate for lunch was old stuff... so it is possible that I just let something sit in my fridge for a few days longer than it should have.... I'm still not sure what it was that caused it, but I will be sure to pay attention to what I eat tomorrow!0 -

thats probably what the probem is-increase fiber gradually to minimize gastrointestinal ssues0 -

This.
When I started the "new me/ healthy" kick last year and even had a personal trainer... I would eat too much fiber/ carbs and not drink enough water to flush it out.
Not sure if sodium was part of the issue but part of eating fiber is you also need to drink lots of water to get it out of your system.
Make sure you're drinking H20 and reducing sodium intake where you can!0 -

This. If I go over 25 grams... especially if its from brocolli... O... M... G. I'm miserable!
Oh, and I CANNOT have anything labeled "Fiber One". That stuff makes me a wreck. TMI I know but its true.0 -
are you eating protein bars or drinking protein shakes? those always wreak havoc on my stomach.0

Well I am eating a few more protein shakes because my protein is too low and I'm trying to get more protein in too.0
