Hey everyone! I have a question/concern...I've been counting calories for a while now and only in the last month have I been really uping my exercise to around 5 times a week. But! I'm still getting nowhere with my numbers. And if I do drop, it's for like a day and then it goes right back up and stays there. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe eating too few calories? Or not eating back enough of my exercise calories earned? I'm not sure what's happening but I'm definitely stuck at this weight and it's just not showing signs of improvement which makes me want to stop exercising because of the 'it's not working so why do it?' mentality. Help!

The closer you get to your goal the harder it is. Try changing up your workout every now and then. Your body might be used to your normal workout. I wouldn't eat back calories unless a. I'm hungry b. my net is over under 500. Try drinking more water!0

I forgot to say stop weighing yourself so often. Try once a week in the morning before you eat or drink and after you pee. Our bodies naturally fluctuate water weight throughout the day. I gain 4-5 throughout the day and its gone in the morning and sometimes less than before. Don't give up. Just change your approach.0

Stop weighing yourself and get out the tape measure! You just upped your exercise.. is it weights? Classes like zumba, yoga kickboxing? I'll bet your losing inches. Contrary to popular belief, muscle does not weight more then fat, a pound is a pound, a pound of muscle however takes up less space then a pound of fat, so if you're converting muscle to fat (good thing!) You'll be losing inches, but not weight. that's where i am.. It *IS* driving me nuts. I want to lose 8 pounds and get under 200, but I quite happy with the muscles I am getting.
Also weigh yourself once a week at the same time. It's natural for your weight to fluctuate up to 5 pounds a day. I usually weigh on Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings. I have decided to track less often though. As I have actually gained 2 pounds, but lost 2 pants sizes..
So love your body.. keep your head up and remember.. nothing good and nothing worth it is easy.0 -
Thanks so much for your advice. I figured that I am weighing myself way too often (sometimes up to 2 times a day), and I guess I'm not letting my body have a chance to make changes without me judging it.
I've been usually doing a brisk/fast walk on a treadmill for around 30-35 minutes and then I do different floor exercises depending on the day. Also started doing yoga more often too.
I have tried eating at my BMR (1560), and then eating at 1200 calories/day. Now I'm doing around 1350, because I was either feeling starved or over eating before. This feel manageable especially with the workouts I guess I'm just too impatient.0 -
Hey! Sorry to hear you're not seeing the results you want! I just looked through your diary and I'm wondering if you are logging everything? I see some days are missing dinner or you are eating very low calories. If that's because you aren't logging everything you eat, then I think you should start by logging every single thing that goes into your mouth as it is soooo easy to underestimate how many calories we are actually consuming. If you are logging everything, then I would say most days you are netting really low calorie-wise. Your net cals are sometimes under 1000 cals which will be detrimental to your weight loss especially with all the exercise you are doing. Check out http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 and figure out all your numbers to see if they match up to what you are currently doing or if you need to change your calorie goal. Feel free to add me if you want help and support! I was in your shoes last year and this plan has worked for me. So maybe it can help you out too. Best of luck!!0
