OK I know sit ups probably arent the best thing, and there are better exercise for the ab, but when you've never been able to do a sit up you want to do one at least once in your life.
So one of my goals is to do a sit up just to say I can do it.
So I took an old robe belt wrapped it around my feet, put my feet under the heavy coffee table. Grabbed the belt and pulled myself up. I sat up!!! Yes I had to use a training wheel to get myself up, but thats more than I've ever been able to do.
I was able to knock out about 5 until my arms and abs were screaming at me. I think I might have done something good because even inhaling today my abs hurt. I can feel them for the first time! And I didnt kill my back.
Did I do any good with my little make shift training wheel? Think its possilbe to use this method to actually one day be able to do a sit up or will I end up killing my back and remain with nothing to show but weak ab muscles.
BTW tried the planks. Thats killer. I wasnt strong enough to get on my forearms so I had to get into a kind of modified push up with the palm of my hands.
