Hi all, I have been struggling with medium pain in my calf in last two weeks which started with a cramp but today during exercise I jumped and my calf soft of clicked followed by terrible pain. Now I am limping and can't really walk without pain. I suspect it might be torn inside. Any experience with that, advice what to do, whether you still can exercise or how long it takes to recover? Many thanks.

If you think it might actually be badly torn, you need to see a doctor as soon as you can as it might need surgery to repair, sorry. But seeing as you can walk at all, it could just be a strain, though the popping sound might mean it's a less severe tear. Take ibuprofen, rest and ice it, and elevate it when you can for at least three days. Again if it doesn't seem to be getting better see your doctor.

Thanks Berry. I hope it will be only three days. Will try ice this evening.
  • I just tore mine, level 2, takes 6-8 weeks for full recovery.
