Questions for SHRED Dieters

I'm thinking about doing the Shred diet by Dr. Ian Smith (not Jillian Michaels'.. though I am doing 30 day shred) Before I run out to Barnes and Nobles to buy the book, I have a few questions that I was hoping some of you could answer for me.
1. What does dinner look like on the diet? I live with my fiance and we always eat dinner together (me doing the cooking). Is dinner something that my fiance would actually want to eat with me? He isn't incredibly picky, but he wouldn't be happy with salad every single night either.
2. Do you have to buy a ton of different types of food? If so, does it end up going bad? Again, my fiance won't do this with me so it will basically just be me buying the food for myself. I hate buying certain things because it ends up going bad before I can eat it all. For example, I don't want to buy a loaf of whole wheat bread then only eat two pieces the entire week.
3. What about eating out? Does the plan allow for you to go out to eat with friends every once in awhile? I don't do this a lot, but I don't want to be in this huge dilemna if an old friend visits from out of town and wants to go to a particular restaurant.. ya know?
Thanks so much in advance!
