Calories or nutrition for weightloss?

Hiya all
Right so most days, not all, I'm under my calorie goal. However often my macros are nearly always over on carbs and fat.
Does this mean it will slow down my weightloss even though I'm under my calories?
Sorry if it's a stupid question :)

Calories are all that matter for weight gain/loss. Calories come from macros. Your calorie breakdown by macro will have really no effect on weight loss.

However, if you're over on carbs and fat then you are under on protein. You should eat more protein. I generally recommend that when people get more protein they get fewer carbs instead of less fat, as carbs tend to be less filling than fat.

Calories may be all that matter for weight loss, but not for overall health - IMHO.
If calories were all that mattered, you could eat your calorie goal in Twinkies and still lose weight - but you'd probably be hungry and feel like crap becasue you're body isn't getting the nutrients it needs.

I'm not really into tracking all my macros but I agree with jonny - try more protein, and I'd bet that in itself will lower your carbs.

You can do that. In fact, someone did in fact only eat Twinkies and a few veggies for two months. He lost 27 pounds, his LDL and triglycerides dropped, and his HDL went up.

All the other concerns are not as important as everyone likes to think they are.

On the weight loss instruction manual, "CALORIES" should be written at the top in 48-point font, with "lift and do some cardio" as a subtitle in 12-point font. Under that in 8-point font is "eat enough protein, and fat is yummier and more filling than carbs."

Everything else can be in 4-point font in invisible ink for most purposes.

I'm always really full that's why I can't reach my goal most days. I'm keen on increasing my protein increase so I'm going to start planning my day in advance

Great plan. Good luck. I took a look at your diary and your macro targets look good to me. So just focus on hitting those.

Calories for weight loss, macros for body composition.
