Hi guys,
Does anyone know how long tahini lasts in the fridge after you buy it? It came in a coffee can-style container and has been refrigerated the whole time. Seems like something that might last forever, but i don't want to get sick!
Thanks!

  • I had mine for almost a year and it wasn't refrigerated. I think you are fine. I used mine about 2 weeks ago.. are you making hummus? greek yogurt makes a great replacement...

I've heard six months and I've heard a year. But any spoilage issue would be the oil in it going rancid and I've been told when that happens it is very obvious because it will smell and taste bad. So chances are good you don't have to worry about getting sick from it because you will be able to tell if it shouldn't be used.
