If you exercise then 1200 cals is a big no no!

Not sure how tall you are but ever calculated your BMR and TDEE?

Most likely your body is retaining water due to inflamation as a result of starting a more intense workouts.

When I change my work out it not uncommon for me to gain 4-5 lbs.

Give it another week or so.

You should not reduce cals - 1200 is considered to be the bare minimum intake for women. Do you eat your exercise cals back? If not, you should be, especially set at 1200 a day.

Having been on on 30DS for about a week may be part of what's making it seem like you're stalled - a new exercise routine will cause water retention as your muscles repair themselves. Make sure you are drinking enough water daily.

And take measurements! The scale is not always the best way to gauge progress. I lost fat and inches and full pants size while staying the exact same weight, so you measure (and take pictures!) for a better idea of how you're doing.

But most importantly, eat! Food is fuel - eat too little for too long and you give your body a reason to store fat rather than burn it. Have a look at this topic: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 Best move I ever made was following the info there. I have had the best success since eating according to that topic.
  • if you are exercising daily, you should be eating more than 1200 calories. By sticking to the 1200 calories, you are stunting your metabolism and your body is hanging onto fat. You need to feed your body! Feed it more foods high in protein. You should be consuming at least 1300-1500 calories. Try it for a couple weeks and see how you do. Also...make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

Are you eating back the calories you burn? Like sofielein mentioned, 1200 calories is quite low so if you ar enot eating back what you burn you couldvery well be putting your body in starvation mode which will keep you from losing weight. I really would now reduce your colorie intake any more than what it is now. Try tweeking what you eat instead?

Eat a little more if you are exercising. That's a low daily goal. Your body is going to hold on to fat and other stuff if you don't give it enough food.

Are you eating your exercise calories back? Remember the initial 1200 calories is "spoken for" ..... your heart, lungs, kidneys are using those calories. Eating 1200 calories & then exercising for say 200 ..... leaves you with 1000 net calories. Reducing your calories further will not help with a plateau.

Besides, too low calorie diets result in a combination of muscle (and fat) loss.

With the 30 day shred I stopped losing weight completely too but yet saw a dramatic change to my body shape this is because you are losing fat but gaining weight in muscle

You should not be eating below your BMR. My advice is to eat 20% less than your TDEE.

As far as why you stopped losing...Probably water retention from starting a new program.

Im eating more when I exercise but doing the 30DS ive just put it down at about 160 calories so I increase my daily to around 1300, however I eat fruit like oranges melon and grapes and don't include that so I guess I am eating them back?

Your BMR is basically coma calories. And you're not in a coma, so your body deserves more than that, right?

Yes, you need to count everything you eat. If you are eating a lot of fruit, the calories can add up. Count it all so you get an accurate number of calories in. Fruits and veggies as well.

How much have you lost already? If you have lost a considerable amount, you may just be in a temporary stall. Weight loss is not steady every week. It fluctuates due to water levels. When you start a new exercise regimen, your muscles can swell with water to help with repair and this can mask a loss or even show up as a gain. Give it time and it will even out.
