carbs versus protein - which is better to lose weight

I have been on the program for almost a month and it seems that my carbs are high and protein low. Mr doctor says he wants me on a low carb diet. What should I eat more of to get protein higher than my carbs. I am not a big bread eater, but I do like my morning bowl of cereal which adds my carbs. Anyone have any suggestions for how to switch it up to more protein>

First be sure to measure out what a serving is according to the box. Sometimes what we pour into our bowl, and we think is a serving (typically between 3/4 of a cup and 1 cup) is way over.
Watch the rice, potatoes, starchy veggies ... limit them.
Add more lean protein (fish, chicken, beef), cheese, yogurt, etc. into your diet.
You can do this... so many of us have the same issue....so stay focused!0
