Above 40-50 and you can have some problems...most of it is discomfort and embarrassing gas...too much can have to opposite effect of what you generally associate with fiber and cause constipation. Most people don't start having issues unless there 40-50 and above. I try to get 30g daily.0

I get 40-50g fiber a day. if the increase in fiber is steady your body will adjust. If its too quick you will not be comfortable. The RDA is 25 mg which I blow past regularly because I really only eat whole foods for the most part. if you're not having any GI distress I'd say you're fine.0

I never go over 30 but since this thing is telling me to take 14g i started wondering... Thanx!0

I don't think you can get too much fiber. I think you may have to increase water if you get too much fiber. As far as I know though it is kind of like Vitamin C whatever you don't need just gets eliminated.0

I get like 40-50 per day too and have no problems. I also eat a plant based whole foods diet. If your tummy feels fine then you are okay. :flowerforyou:0

Nope, it would really be hard to get too much fiber unless you have a medical condition like Chrohn's or Ulcerative Colitis, then the limits are/can be different.
The biggest issue is not being properly hydrated and getting alot of fiber. THAT can cause problems.0 -
I have Crohn's disease and eat anywhere from 40-60 g of fiber a day.
It's pretty difficult to eat "too much" fiber but the consequence of that would mean you can get caught up on that stack of magazines you've been meaning to read...0 -
LMAO!
There is one effect that is already mentioned - more time well spent with your toilet

the suggestion is 14g per 1000 calories.. so if you calories are set low that may be why its set at that.0
