Sure, of course a deficit. But also I would be wanting to make sure I was strengthening all the muscles in the legs, gluts. I would also do some yoga style stretching. The barre suggestion above sounds good:)

Hmm, and when you really want to strengthen the muscles in the legs, glutes* etc., do some squats, lunges, deadlifts... with weights. You'll see results in no time. Stretching/yoga is great for um, stretching.

Barre is really good for that.

what is barre? I have seen it mentioned. Is this something you can do at home??

It's like pilates but with elements of ballet. I go to a studio for it, but I think there are DVDs you could get to do it at home. The classes I do are divided into 5 parts with stretching in between. First there's core work that's done on the mat (plank-type exercises), followed by arm and shoulder exercises that are done standing with weights. Then we do thigh work at the barre, followed by glutes which can either be done at the barre or on the mat. We finish with ab exercises on the mat. The thigh exercises are really tough and I've seen the best results there.

Thanks for that ! sounds good !

when I do squats, lunges I find it REALLY hard to squeeze my butt cheeks properly. Like I can do a little squeeze but not much of one. How do I improve on this?
