I have a Beurer which is suitable for swimming, haven't tried it myself though. It is relatively inexpensive and I haven't had any problems with it.

Heart rate monitors are not accurate measures of calories burned in the water, if that is your goal.

The Polar FT4 is suitable to worn while swimming. You just can't push the buttons on it while you're underwater or you risk allowing water into it.

I use a Polar f4 HRM. I've used it swimming, a bit gingerly, I must admit, even though it said in the instruction manual that you could. It was fine and it was so good to be able to measure a proper burn whilst swimming instead of just guessing or estimating.
