Still not getting it????

With so much information out there about figuring your calories I thought I had it figured out BUT.....

I just used a different method and it gives me an even higher TDEE - - - I consider myself pretty dern smart, I don't know why I am having such a hard time with this.

I just want to set my goal at a number - that lets me know exactly what I need to do... 1644 is 20% of my TDEE if I am slightly active - - - I put that as my goal, I didn't think I needed to eat back any calories since my activity is figured in, however I realized that I am consistently eating under my BMR 7 out of 9 days.

I know this question is posted all the time, (I posted earlier in a different category) but I want to do this right and am getting very frustrated.

Thanks for any help.

You'll never get it exact. The formulas are all very inexact. Go with whatever formula you want and give it a month. If you're losing too much weight, adjust up 200 calories. If you're not losing weight, drop it 200 calories.

    What are your stats?

    I figured my TDEE as 2055 20% 1644

    I am 33, 160lbs. 5'5.

some are telling me that my TDEE is too low, perhaps I figured my activity low.
As I mentioned w/ exercise I often net below my BMR.

My favorite calculator tells me your BMR is 1500. So on an average, no-exercise day you probably use about 1800. 1800 - 500 = 1300 per day.

So I'd suggest make 1300 your goal in MFP. Add exercise as you do it into MFP, and the site will adjust your calorie goal for the day accordingly. Start there, and give it a month and see how it goes.
