burning cals in a leg brace? HOW ???

HELP!! I'm looking for some exercises I can do for my core and arms and whatnot. Im in the process of recovering from a knee operation and cannot take the leg brace off to do anything quite yet, nor can I put wait on my leg.
I cannot find any web sites or tutorials, so if you have one, or even just pictures that would help.
Thanks!! :)

I'd try googling "seated upper body workout". There are lots of exercises adapted for people who can't stand. :)

I recently had knee surgery as well and I've been doing Crossfit. When I was still on crutches, I did pistols on my good leg, pullups, pushups, situps, russian twists, and pretty much anything else I could do seated. For cardio, I did an upper-body only row. When I was finally allowed to put some weight on my knee, I did one-legged burpees (really hard!), one-legged jump ropes, and everything I previously mentioned, plus whatever was comfortable. I put light amounts of weight up over my head (65lbs max) and kept my bad leg straight out to my side during olympic lifts. I'm now 8 weeks post-op and I do the same WOD as the rest of the class, but with my brace locked straight. If there's an exercise I simply cannot do (like box jumps), my Crossfit coach while give me something else to do that works the same muscles but without the impact (v-ups).

It may take a couple weeks post-op before you feel ready to exercise. I waited a week and I started rowing and doing lots of one-legged stuff and core stuff. You can burn calories and get really strong with only one leg, I promise! My one-legged deadlift went from 95lbs to 135lbs in a matter of weeks.
