Eating on Workout Days vs Rest Days

I heard that once you figure out your TDEE-15% (or 20%) you eat those same number of calories throughout the week, both on your workout days and on your rest days. But I still struggle with the mental aspect of that, and I would feel more comfortable eating at BMR (which for me is approx 1400 cals) on rest days, since all I would do on that day is sit at my desk and get up to do a bit of light housework and cooking. I guess the reason is because I feel like on a rest day, I'm not earning those extra couple hundred of cals. What do you guys suggest?

You shouldn't be eating at your BMR even on rest days as you are not in a coma. You should always eat above BMR. When you properly do TDEE it averages out the workout calories for the whole week.
  • It's fine to eat less on rest/cardio days. I usually eat like 300-400 less on cardio days (I don't do rest days).
