Just thought I'd pop in a quick topic introducing myself. (:
My name is Sara, I'm 21 years old and I'm formerly a figure skater and a dancer. I suffered an injury and ended up getting a bit lazy after I "retired" from sports. I've always been petite, only 5'0 tall, but I used to be about 24-25lbs lighter than I am now and used to be in MUCH better shape athletically speaking. Mostly, I jumped on this site to start becoming more active, lose a few of those extra lbs and inches, but most of all to gain my confidence back.
For me, it isn't so much about the number on the scale, but more so the feeling and look of being healthy and happy and overall... confident. I tend to get easily discouraged and feel terrible about myself, so all the support is greatly appreciated. Also any ideas and help about gentle exercises to gain back some strength, mostly in the hip region, would be awesome.
