I was just going to post this same question. I have been looking at a Polar but would love opinions of those who use them.0 -
I have this one and I love it.

I have a Polar FT4 and I love it... I'm not really tech savvy so I needed something easy and simple. It gives you your HR, calories burned and shows if you are in your target heart range during exercise (I'm sure it does more but that is all I was looking for and needed).
I have found that since wearing it to work out that MFP grossly overestimates different cardio exercises (sometimes hundreds of calories different!!)
Best of luck to you!!0 -
I also have the Polar TF4 and love it (when I remember to use it - oops).0

I am a runner also, so I have the Garmin Forerunner 110 and I LOVE it! I use it indoors all the time for just the HRM so I can track calories during gym classes and when I have to run inside. It has not let me down yet and I use it 6 days a week!0

I have the FT4 and love it as well - it does just what I need and nothing extra. I didn't want to pay for all the bells and whistles if I wasn't going to use them. And, it's not too bad on price.

(note that it does come in different colors as well) - enjoy! Regardless of the one you get, it's a great motivator!! :happy:0 -
I have a sportline I got from ****s sporting goods. It was cheap but it works great for what I wanted.0

I have one made by New Balance, given to me for Christmas. I am not happy with it, it doesn't seem to work each time I put my finger or thumb on the watch to have the HR come up. Also I can rarely get the chest band to work, the buttons don't do what the directions say. We sent the first one back and they sent me a new one, that isn't any better. Maybe it's me?0

I have the Polar FT7 as well, and I absolutely LOVE it!!!! I use it every single day. The Heart rate strap that goes around the chest is actually pretty comfortable, and I've never had problems with it slipping which I was worried about at first.0

Exactly this. Absolutely the same response I would have given - loads of exclamation points and all!0 -
They are junk and a pain in the *kitten*. You have to stop and take your pulse constantly and they aren't accurate. Get one with a chest strap instead. You really can't feel it and it's worth the accuracy. Mine is a polar ft4 and I love it.0

I just bought the Polar FT4 off Amazon - comes with a chest strap. I really like it, easy to set up and it shows your HR, zone HR, calories burned, etc. In my opinion the calories burned is way more accurate than what my elliptical says.0

Polar FT4. ****s sporting goods has them for 89.99 but you can use one of them coupons if you have it.0

i have the Body media one, I LOVE IT!!! you still track calories thorugh here and it automatically syncs your calorie burn to here!0

I have Polar FT4 and love it!0

I used to have the FT7, and if all you want is cals burned amd heart rate, it does the trick. I've recently upgraded to the FT60 and I am in love. It sets goals for me every week (cals burned, total time, and time in each zone) so it not only tracks my progress it also motivates me to get off my *kitten* to meet my weekly goals.0

I have a Polar FT60 and I love it but I found a better, cheaper option. I think the most important thing is to make sure it includes a chest strap. They are way more accurate. I bought the Polar H7 chest strap from Amazon a couple of weeks ago. It was around $60 I think. It does not include a watch but I use it with the Polar Beat app on my ipod. It syncs through Bluetooth and shows my heart rate and % of maximum heart rate as I exercise. I can also see exactly how many calories I have burned in real time so I can stop when I get to my goal. My watch will sync with the chest strap but I like using the iPod with it much better. It syncs with some other devices and apps as well. Hope this helps!0
