Hello Fellow MFPers!
If you have read my profile you know that last year I had a major scare. I lost the use of my legs. I had been having some back problems and one morning I got out of bed and the pain was so intense I almost threw up and passed out. Little did I know but two hours later when I tried to stand my legs would collapse under me.
I had herniated a disc so badly that it was crushing the nerves in my spine. The next day they performed emergency back surgery. This was June of last year, by November I had almost fully recovered and was cleared to start working out.
This was a big wake up call for me. I knew I never wanted to have that happen again. This New Years I made two resolutions.
Take care of myself and take care of my world.
In support of both these goals I have signed up for a half-marathon to raise money for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.
Completing a half marathon is something I would never have thought personally possible and to be able to join that with a cause that is greater than myself... well, I can't think of anything better.
Both my boyfriend and I have joined and have commited to raising $7,000 by July 3rd. Your support of a donation would be greatly appreciated. If you can't support with money your encouragement and good vibes will also be graciously accepted.
Below is a link to our website. Please check it out and be sure to follow the links to the CCFA website and the Link to Camp Oasis. This is a children's camp for sufferers of Crohn's and Colitis. If you are not familiar with the diseases I encourage you to take a look.
