Stove-top popcorn cooked in oil... healthy?

Hi guys
Here's the thing, I love popcorn, but after reading an article about preservatives and the price I'm paying over the year for ready made popcorn, I recently decided to experiment with popcorn kernels and make my own.
When I cook popcorn without oil, I find it too bland to eat, so I generally use oil and some truvia (plant extract sweetner).
I'm just wondering, I normally eat about 40g of popcorn with 1/2 tablespoon of oil each day or so, and the brand of oil I use is just cheap stuff from Iceland (Crisp N Dry?) is this going to be really bad for me or worse than the pre-packed stuff in the long term? Thanks x
