Giving up Diet Coke

First off I have to say I am madly in love with Diet Coke! I've read multiple threads where some people say to give it up and others say they won't give it up.

I decided 3 days ago with this being my 4 day to give up diet coke cold turkey! I feel weak and have bad headaches. I know this feeling will pass in time but I do have to say I've lost a few pounds of water weight.

It taste soo good but can't be good for you. I mean ...look at all the chemicals in it and plus it has sodium....which makes you hold water weight. Now I'm not saying I won't ever drink diet coke again, but I wanted to do a little test trial to see if you actually did loose weight by not drinking it. I've completely switched over to just water and I will have tea or coffee with splenda in it. I need to get my caffine some way.

Well if anyone has imput on this let me know. Thanks and good luck to everyone!

good for you. I found when I started this it was hard to get my 8 glasses of water in a day and was addicted to coke zero. Well in getting my 8 glasses (a bunch were crystal light) I didn't have room for coke zero. I used to have two a day or so. Now if I have one I don't even finish it. Crazy because I never though I could give it up.

I was a serious Diet Coke and Pepsi Max addict. I would go through 1.5+ liters of it per day! When I had my WLS surgery in January I was told that carbonated drinks were forbidden, so I quit cold turkey. I haven't missed it one bit and now, I actually crave water when before it wouldn't quench my thirst!

About two months ago I drank Diet Coke with just about every meal, and then some. About two years ago I decided to give up all soda and did it for about six months. Beginning in February, I cut out Diet Coke completely and have stuck with it ever since :) I admit to experiencing headaches from the withdrawal, but now I have no cravings for it at all. I strictly drink water now and occasionally tea. I DEFINITELY can tell a difference!! Drinking water works wonders for me. Good luck :)
