Hey everyone! I would love to eat a can of tuna fish everyday. I have heard it can be dangerous because of the mercury. Does anyone know that real truth about how careful you have to be?

A quick google search of "canned tuna mercury" pulled up this website that you punch in your weight and gender and it tells you how much you can eat. There were several other sites that came up that gave guidelines. Unfortunately for you, none of them indicate that eating tunafish daily is advisable.

Wow, never heard of tuna not being safe. I've had tuna salad for the past few days. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. Been eating tuna my entire life, and nothing has ever happened.0

this can be a hot topic sometimes LOL. I think the general guidelines are that pregnant woman and children should try to avoid large fish. Otherwise 6oz/per week (I believe going from memory here) is safe. You can try salmon as an alternative. It comes in the same sort of can/bag and can be found at most stores ven Target. GL0
