Random comments from kids...

Today while talking to my class of 8th graders about what we were going to do, one girl blurted out " You're pretty." She immediately became red faced, and I could tell was waiting for her classmates to tease her. I was so proud of them, her friend just broke the ice and made us laugh by saying " We'll, that was random!" I thanked the student for her compliment and we went on discussing the three types of rocks and how they form.
Little does she know, she made this 42 year old's day;). It is the little kindnesses that kids show that make me happy that I am teaching a small part of the next generation.

After reading another post a few minutes ago about teenage girls being mean to each other, it is great to read a positive post about young women- thanks for sharing.

That's great. I taught 8th grade for a while, and found that when they blurt stuff out, they are pretty honest.
