New old lady on the block.

Hi everyone. My name is Pat and I came to the realization 14 months ago that I needed to change my life. I started by ending a 44 year smoking habit. That habit gave me nothing but Empysema(COPD). Came close to killing me.
Now, I want to get healthy. To learn the right foods to eat. I am not interested in losing weight, just eating the right stuff.

My sugar has been high lately but the Dr. and I agree it may be from a medicine that I have been on. We are in the process of wening me off. I have also had some probems with Cholesterol at times....any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have already started with the calorie counter that watches everything you eat. Pretty cool...ppat

    Old? I don't think so. Add me if you keep your diary open to your friends. I'm also more concerned about eating healthy over weight loss (although I'm losing weight too).

    For now I am just sort of watching my eating habits so I know what to cut out.

    I started Re-hab Tuesday and will go again this morning. Tuesday they put me on a Bike and also a treadmill but it is more for endurance than anything else. We shall see what today bring...ppat

    I'm pretty new too....just about a week in. I first logged on in October but didn't use it any. Now I'm being religious about it!! I have found it very easy to use. I'm not being to god but am learning alot. Lost 4 but gained back 3 so now I'm at 1. Good luck and you can friend me if you want to stay in touch.

  • Good afternoon Ladies
    I am new here too , I joined on 17th Feb and I have lost 4lbs , so the weight loss is at a a steady pace , which im glad about . The thing i find difficult is that , as I have got into my mid 40's ( 45 in march) , my body shape has changed , i am really a lot thicker around the waiste , so im hopefully going to combat that with some excersise at the gym 3 times a week .
    I have been spurred on by the fact that my Daughter announced her pregenancy 2 weeks ago and I thought , ohhh i need to be a glamourous Granny hahahaha, that really was a joke , i actually freaked out at the responsibilty lol .
