How much stock do you place in the pop up, ya know, after you hit Finished Logging for Today, Complete this Entry? I feel like a greyhound chasing the illustrious rabbit around the track. I keep thinking "It's been 5 weeks and I'm nowhere near XXX lbs!" And it's been pretty consistent and I know my calories, macros and exercise are reasonably consistent.

I guess what I'm asking is: is/was it accurate for you?

I don't keep track of what it says, so i really don't know if it is at all accurate.

When I set my MFP goal to lose 1/2 a pound weekly I dropped 8.5 lbs in 5 weeks while eating all my exercise calories back. It has no idea what your daily energy expenditure is... it's just a guess.

So... you have to figure it out for yourself. I'm a stay-at-home mom who spends a lot of time on the computer, yet my actual daily non-exercise burn is above the "Very Active" MFP setting... I'm not a mail carrier or a heavy construction worker  ... so log your food every day, weigh it so you know for sure you're logging as accurately as you can, then compare your actual results over time... It really is just math.

But yeah... MFP uses a formula to guess what you'll burn every day.
