Getting sick

I am 300 lbs, and 6'4. (scale says I lost 10, but scales are known lairs) I want to lose weight and tone up. I started counting calories and signed up to a gym 2 days ago. I think I am doing something wrong because I came home and started violently throwing up.

Before anyone says anything, I know I am not preparing any of my own foods, but I am a taxi driver, I am in my car 14 hrs a day, and don't have extra time. But I am trying to keep my stuff healthy (other than the cookies today)

Can anyone suggest some changes I might make. I don't feel any different, but people are saying I look a little tired. I think I should up my calories, but any advise would be awesome to read.

Oh, and oddly, the past few days I have been waking up 2 hours earlier, which is quite annoying.

It could be a variety of things. I've ran your numbers through the scooby bmr calculator and It says you could be eating at least 500 calories more than you are already. It could also be that you're pushing yourself too hard too soon, that you're eating too close to working out, or that you're just getting ill from something else. I do not see anything off or bad with your intake otherwise, it looks healthier than mine (by a lot, lately. oops).

Maybe you ate too soon before/after exercise?

I started at 294lb so roughly where you are now. I have managed to lose 60lb and my calorie goal is currently 2000-2400 depending on exercise.

I think you need to slow down a bit, this is a long term thing, not a race. Rather than going all out from the start, I would think about slowly making better choices, get into the habit of logging, start to do some gentle exercise, walking, swimming.

See what works for you, at the start small changes will make a big difference. Then build up the changes to food, diet and exercise etc as you go.

I have taken a year to get here and have a bit more to go. Slow, yes, but I have built good habits that I will keep doing, not a diet that will end and back to old ways in 5 weeks.

Couple of posts that are worth looking at:

    http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/908271-when-is-1200-calories-appropriate-hint-almost-never

This references the link below, well worth working through the numbers....

If reasonable exercise made me throw up I'd see a doctor (You should know if you have been over doing it!)

Please add as friend, I'm still looking to lose another 40 odd pounds, before maintenance, so will be here a while yet

Less than 20 minutes of exercise, but this is at 3 am, my day starts at noon driving a cab all day and not moving.

It makes more sense to me the day as after. Not enough sleep, not enough calories, too quick on the exercise.

I upped my calories to 1666 plus eat my calories. I find it hard to eat meat and I don't respect will to lactose so I am going to get a protein supplement today.

Thanks hookandy, I hope for the same great results you earned.

Maybe more water while exercising? I know that if I am doing an intense work-out and I don't get enough water, I'm almost always sick after (or sometimes even during).
