My Strange Addiction... Bodybuilding

So, I happened to catch an episode of "My Strange Addiction" last night and saw this woman named Lauren who has been addicted to bodybuilding for years now. She prides herself on going "to the extreme" in all aspects of her life. She spends about 6 hours in the gym 6 days a week... the video links below give you most of her story. In addition, she's on a bunch of "doctor-prescribed" supplements like Human Growth Hormoenes (HGH) and others.

I guess I just wanted to post this and see what your thoughts are on this. When does this become too much?
(mind you this is all for chit-chat, I don't need a lecture on what I can do to not look like her.)
Anddddd... discuss!

She should maybe get addicted to knowledge I doubt very much 6 hours a day in the gym is the most productive way.0

That one was sad. I saw it last year. She was so addicted that she put it before everything, including her son. I'm all for bettering oneself and living a healthy lifestyle, but anything to any extreme is not healthy, including 6 hours in a gym 6 days a week.0

I'm kind of surprised no one else has any thoughts on this...0

Exactly what I was thinking lol
I agree with the two comments above though. Thanks for answering!0 -
They know me at my gym - but that's because it's winter time, they offer childcare, and I'm chatty with the employees/trainers.
Because I use the child care, I have a limit of 2 hours, which I usually take advantage of when I work with my personal trainer. But only 60-90 minutes at night if I go at all.
They know me as "dedicated", not "obsessed", and "someone who loves to run, AND eat/cook/bake".0 -
How does she have the time and money for this? Does she work? I'm working 50 hours a week right now plus classes for my degree, so I just don't get how someone with a life can do all that...0

Probably not the same one, the one with "Lauren" was a woman that said she gave up the chance to be a wife and a mother to put her workouts + fitness competitions first in her life.0 -
There are much worse things to get addicted too. Seems most body builders are addicted to some degree. I have become addicted to lifting, but just three days a week for an hour. Feels good to get stronger and lose some weight. It keeps me going back. Im not a bodybuilder though, just trying to get stronger and lose some fat.0

I think 6 hours a day is too much. Bring addicted to anything is not a good thing.
I feel like one of the challenges ultimately of being a human is being able to balance things in life and not have an addiction that would therefore take over one's life.
It appears for what she does, its done that.0 -

Nope. That is the same one I saw last year.0
