Hi all! I'm a vegetarian. I have been for about four years and I'm trying a slow transition into veganism. I've always been pretty bad at getting adequate protein, since it's hard to plan out full and complete meals when you're a full time graduate student and work full time as well. :) I'm looking for a good protein powder. I know whey isn't vegan, so I'd like to try something that is. Also, I'd really really prefer organic, since I buy all of my groceries organic from my local co-op! Does anyone have any recommendations for me?

Organic is a little tough to find... maybe at a health food store. But, personally I wouldn't go organic just because organic labelling can be lax and protein powder is expensive enough (especially if you won't use whey) without going for the organic version.

Look for pea protein powder, hemp, rice, soy, etc for vegan versions. I believe one brand is Vega... I'm not sure if it's Organic though.

You could also use soy products (they aren't as bad as people make them out to be), tofu, vegan yogurts, etc for protein.

Thanks! I mean, I do eat soy products, like I said, I just don't have time to prepare them every day, (nine hours of work and then five hours of night class leaves little free time) so I was just looking for a recommendation of a good organic protein powder, if anyone had any suggestions. I'll try Vega. :)
