Hey Y'all,
I'm not saying this is the toughest question ever, but I don't know the answer. 6-10months ago my cholesterol was a bit high(216 ish). I said lets check it agian in several months months and let me work on it. Fine, It is now down to 138, Both my good cholester and bad cholesterol were low. I was talking with someone, and they freaked out saying my cholesteral was way too low and that it needed to be around 175 for healthy brain function. Has anyone ever heard of this? I haven't. I am going over the results with my doctor in a few days but just wondered what y'all knew. Thanks for you wisdom. Have a great day.

The all over number isn't as important as the ratio of good: bad cholesterol (your HDL vs LDL). My all over # is 205 and my doctor is happy with that, as my bad cholesterol is low and my good cholesterol is pretty high.0

My doctor told me anywhere between 190 and 225 were the most optimum numbers with HDL being above 60, preferably around the 80 mark (which is quite hard to reach).0 -
