I'm probably an idiot and a bit of a whiner...TDEE etc

Ok, so I've been losing pretty consistently since the beginning of Jan, eating around 1000-1400 calories and exercising sporadically (yoga, but i also chase a 2 year old around all day). Now I started to feel rubbish - of course! - bit shaky etc etc because I knew I wasn't eating enough SO time to research better more sustainable ways to lose and...well...stay alive!

Brings me to this week: I have followed this post very carefully http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 calculated TDEE -20% reset my mfp goals and so on. Today was my first day and all I can say is...it was an immense fail.

Difficulty 1 - just cannot conceive of eating so few carbs (probably a lifestyle habit issue - 150)
Difficulty 2 - got nowhere near calories for the day without smashing carbs count and being nowhere near protein count (calories 1500, protein 113)
Difficulty 3 - as I stuffed egg white into my displeased face, I wondered if this could really, actually be a terrible mistake...

Are these 'normal' difficulties in adjustment? Any suggestions on how to get over them? Am I better to stick with the goals mfp set as a result of the changes I made or tinker with them again? Am I just being ridiculous and need to (wo)man up?!!

It is very normal for an adjustment period! If you focus on getting more protein, the carbs will fall in line.

Nuts can help, Greek yogurt is excellent, plus the normal fish, chicken, etc.

If you have any grains, cut back to half servings at first. You may even find that this is enough.

Thanks for the reply! Very heartening :) I am currently searching the entire interweb for a low carb breakfast that doesn't involve eggs!!!
