    Here's the thing. This is about something personal. It's about your body, your appearance. People want magic and they want it fact.
    The active members know better.


    If you are active on a dalmation message board and there is a huge melee about feeding your dog Eukenuba or Iams, honestly I don't think it's as personal.
    People don't THINK they need support posting a thread about dog food.


    here a lot of people think they do need support. And the support some need and ask for, may include supporting whackadoo ideas.

    I don't know. Maybe this makes sense, maybe not.

    seriously, your active members are the backbone of any message board. Good info is nice but it's TRAFFIC that keeps people involved in a message board.

    This place moves as fast as a chat room sometimes. THAT'S what makes this site so great and useful, how QUICKLY most things get respond to.

    Snarky replies (though annoying and unwanted) attract more people to post on a thread, which makes it all the more likely for folks to actually get the help they want.

    Without that traffic topics would just die.

    Usually happens the other way around first. Some kid cant do a pve rotation so they end up nerfing pvp because standing there and mashing buttons is hard.

    - If you said "dalmation" on a dalmatian board I'd guess at least a few would probably freak out about that.

    - What I've seen of the show dog world (if that's what you're talking about) there are some super wacky levels of drama over the most insignificant things.

    - I think it's pretty universal. I've seen people get just as personal and butthurt over arguments about whether to cohabitate snakes, or whether to feed them inside or outside their home, and at least a dozen other mostly unimportant husbandry practices. Those are usually the most heated and vitriolic threads and produce the most outbursts of profanity and ragequitting.
