Need help with a specific time of day

Hi,
I have identified a troublesome time of day with regard to my eating. It is the afternoon from about 2:30-5:00. I am very successful with tracking my meals and making healthy choices the rest of the day, but I just seem to fall apart and snack excessively at this time. I don't keep unhealthy food in my house, but of course I can still blow a lot of extra calories on healthy food I didn't really need to eat, know what I mean?
Part of the problem is that this is the time of day when my kids are getting home from school so I cannot leave the house (getting out of the house and keeping busy is my best method for avoiding aimless snacking), and also at this time of day the kids are doing homework, music practice etc. which can be stressful, and guess what one of my top (faulty) stress relief techniques is. Haha.
