There are far better battles to fight here, such as the need to abolish PB2 from the face of the Earth, or the prevention of any thread that involves the need to "rate" people. "OMG - I'm so insecure about how I look (but PLEASE someone respond to tell me how HAWT I am!!!)!"

    Truth.

In class last night we had an argument on how to spell the contraction of "you all".

    Some said "Ya ' ll"
    I said "Y ' all"

They were dead set on being right...

my "smart" phone corrects it to Y'all. Which I think is correct  You All.

Being a Southerner, (and yes, I did mean to capitalize it) I can assure you all that the correct contraction of you all is, in fact, y'all.
Y'll have a nice, loose day.

I received a friend request with "loose weight" and "your awesome". While I appreciated the sentiment, I denied for the requester's own good. I admit I overuse apostrophes and ellipses.

I am SO guilty of overusing ellipses!

On the topic of "loose" and "lose", I hate seeing "lost" instead of "loss". As in, "I'm sorry for your lost". Though the people that do this also typically use "you're" instead of "your". Whenever I see this, all I can think is "How sincere can a condolence really be, that uses such poor grammar??"
Your/you're is the one I hate most, especially "your welcome" - really??? How have you not seen this phrase written out often enough to know it is YOU'RE!

While my co-worker has very nice manners, he has incredibly poor grammar and actually takes it a step further and says "You Welcome". It doesn't stop there. I'm constantly twitching when he's on the phone as I hear such tense violations as, "I seen it" and "He come over here and told me...".

I actually think MFP isn't as bad as what I see on facebook and other sites and message boards. I've had to back away from many of them because the grammar and spelling are simply so atrocious.

Things that bug me most right now? Seeing "lightening" instead of "lightning", and "marshmellow". SERIOUSLY?
