An hour at the Fitness

Hello!

I'm new to all of this! Hopefully I continue to log everything I do :)

I was wondering, I'm going regularely to the gym and I'm trying to do some core training at home as well.
What is the best way to track this? As I get a nice total of my "calories spent" from the gym equipment, can I just log this as a total somehow? Or is it better to track each machine?

  • I track each exercise. But I found the calorie counts on the site to be way off compared to the machine I'm using. So I enter the calories much closer to what the machine says because they are lower by a good 30%, for example the machine says I'm burning 713 calories, for the exercise listed on this site it gives me a number over 1000, so I log it as 750, and I try to eat most of those back, but I won't force myself to eat if I'm not hungry. I'd rather under estimate calories burnt than over estimate

To find the exercise click on "exercise" up top then cardio or strength and search for what you are doing. I don't log strength training because it is basically impossible to get an accurate estimate. You can find the exercise or machine you are doing and modify the calorie count, once you do that it will be there for you to quickly navigate to and check off to add to your diary.

ETA: the reason I track each exercise is so I can go back and look if I'm feeling extra sore or tired to see what I did differently, same with food because I have GI issues and keeping a diary helps me track trigger foods
