Ok... I have a question. I'm getting pretty frustrated.

I started my diet 2 months ago now. I'm following my goal of 1530 calories, actually often around 1300 calories a day. I've been exercising in the morning, a good 25-40 minutes of Slim in 6 (if anyone is familiar with it, I'm on the second dvd now, doing about 75% of it).

I was 213 lbs in December after a round of steroids. Was down to 208 mid January when I started my diet (still thinking the 213 was a scale error as I ate horribly around Christmas and somehow lost 5 lbs). I was 205 when I started exercising. Was down to 194 after a month (2 weeks ago), last week 195, and this morning I'm back to 196.

I was sick after going down to 194, had too much honey and throat lozanges so it might not have helped (was still staying under goal, just not for sugars but having a hard time most days staying under for sugars frankly). But I've been fine for a week now.

Any idea what's going on? Could my period have affect the result a lot? (I was pretty much done with it when I was 194). Why am I not losing otherwise? I'm under my goal without even counting the exercise I'm doing.

Getting frustrated.

I know it's hard but you are obsessing over the scale too much. From mid January to now you've lost 12 pounds. That's an incredible loss. You need to just keep doing what you are doing. This is new for your body and you need time to adjust. Your results are great :)

Your goal of 1530 is a GOAL - you are aiming to meet that. No bonus points for being hundreds of calories under it. Undereating in the long term will hinder your health/metabolism/weight loss/etc. And you should probably be eating at least some of your exercise calories.

That math makes it sound like you've averaged more than a pound a week, overall, since you started. That's actually an awesome rate of weight loss, even if you haven't lost for the past two weeks

You were sick! Cut yourself some slack :)

During my time of the month, I pretty much throw the scale out the window - I know my weight is going to go up, and who needs that? I tend to gain 3-4 pounds, personally, and it slowly comes back off over a few days afterwards. It's just water and bloating and general unpleasantness, whatever.

Again, please eat enough! And give yourself time. Two weeks is not a plateau, all of this is perfectly normal. Don't be so hard on yourself :)
