Hi Guys:
I've been plugging away at MFP for about 10 weeks and I'm down 18 pounds. I've stayed the same for the last three weeks and I'm beginning to dig into the number beyond what MFP is telling me. According to MFP I should be eating 1540 Cal a day, which I feel is too low. Here is my info and I'm hoping one of the experts can help me out as I'm trying to understand BMR and TDEE etc. etc. etc.
Age - 46 - male, 5'10"
Weight - 209
Desk job
Workout 5 times a week, riding stationary bike, moderate weight training and dog walking
BMR - 2637
TDEE - 3013
Body Fat % - 34
I take a multi vitamin, fish oil, Green Vibrance, I try to eat more proteins than carbs. Lots of fruits and veggies.
Based on what I've read, I should be eating 20% below my TDEE, which would be 2410. I've not been eating anywhere near those numbers and I guess now I would be nervous to eat that many calories. If someone could shed some light on how many calories I should be eating, I would really appreicate it.
Thanks,
JP

you should be eating more for your height/weight and activity level.. I would slowly up your calories (100 or so a week) til you are around 2100-2300 and see how that goes for 2 months.. then adjust up if need be from that number which is more realistic0
