What'd you guys have for dinner?
I tried to make a greek salad, and I was pretty successful. I even made the dressing from scratch!
I used it as an excuse to finally try Kalamata Olives!

Thought it would be neat to share, it could give me some more ideas for healthier dinner options!

It's a little similar. I didn't use basil or mustard. And the only powder I used was garlic.
I used Lemon juice, olive oil, oregano, 1 minces garlic clove, and salt and pepper to taste. Oh and a pinch of sugar.
It was yummy.0 -
Ah....
I see you are Canadian.
You guys celebrate Thanksgiving - in the wrong month of course....
Here's how to make them:
Buy some yams - I prefer the ones that are skinnier and longer (and they are usually a little darker)
Turn oven on to 350 (degrees F that is - which is what, about 175 C?)
Put the yams in it
Bake for at least an hour - the time will vary based on the size of the your yammies (that sounds like some sort of off-color metaphor doesn't it?) Remove them when they get soft (again, that seems like I'm trying to make some sort of innuendo - I'm not)
Let them cool.
Peel them - remove the "outer layer" if it doesn't come off with the skin
Put them in a bowl and whip with a mixer
Add enough apple sauce to make them smooth and "creamy"0 -
Green bell pepper, stuffed with lean turkey, brown rice, onions, tomatoes, and covered in homemade marinara sauce and topped with part skim mozzarella cheese ! Yummerz. Sorry about the poor picture quality. I just wanted to take it quick so I could feed my face :P0 -
I had Greek salad with roast beef, turkey, ham, salami, mozzarella and Greek dressing......yum.0

Oh, by the way....
technically, in North America, they are all sweet potatoes (unless you have some fly importer in your community).
When I say "yam", I am referring to the one with "copper skin and orange flesh".

I used to work in a Korean restaurant - I can't get enough Korean food.
BiBimBob (that's how we spelled it - probably a hundred ways to spell it)
Boolgogi
Pork Boolgogi
Danchan Chigae (fermented miso soup)
Chop chae
Duk Mandu Cook
Goonmandu
Kim Chee
Can't get enough of that stuff0 -

Really?!
Thats interesting, I live in montreal and have only seen the typical sweet potato labeled as such. I will be sure to buy some yams next time I go shopping!0 -

I find that Asian food is generally pretty healthy, as long as you control what goes in it (hahaha). So my bibimbap was like 700 calories per serving, but it was a HUGE FREAKING BOWL OF FOOD.0
