Bust Related Emergency

I know I posted this not too long ago, but I realised the subject sounded a bit pervy O.O Figured I'd change it,

I noticed last night that the weight I am losing seems to be in my breasts (and other places, of course, but noticeable in the breasts). I am a 42 HH, achieved only by being over weight.

I am not, by any means, perky... never have been, just something I've had to live with.

I am absolutely horrified at the idea of losing all this weight and just having awful and ugly skin left because of how stretched out my chest has gotten.

Has anyone been in this situation? Is surgery the only way to fix this when I lose the weight?

Any help would be nice. I don't mind them getting smaller, I just don't want them to be any uglier than they already are.

  • 40DDD here. Mine are also depressed and always looking at the ground. I looked into non surgical options and it seems that most agree upper body weight lifting is best. I use the machines at the gym that press out and also up at an angle. This will strengthen the muscles and pick them back up. Well, mine have never been "up" but you know what I mean LOL Ive noticed some small changes already...hoping for big changes in the end! Then look out topless beaches, pools, etc cuz I'm going to flaunt my new boobs! HAHA j/k but I will spend time looking at them with a new esteem that I've never had.

It can take 2 years for skin to shrink as much as it will so be patient. You can also do all the lifting exercises that guys do to develop pectoral muscles to give your breasts the most support you can. Never to early to start working on that!

accept that there are going to be consequences for all of the weight you put on and are now losing. it's reality. better to have loose skin and saggy body parts, than high blood pressure, diabetes, and poor circulation. in an ideal world, you would never have put on all the weight in the first place and not have to worry about these problems now. but that's not what happened. learn to accept it. all of us have to learn to accept it. it's the price we pay for those years of eating too much and not exercising. it's still a better option than dropping dead suddenly from a stroke or heart attack, or losing a foot to diabetes.

Panda, I'm sorry. But there probably isn't much you can do if you lose a lot. Some pec muscles, waiting for the skin to tighten up... yeah. It helps a little. The most encouraging advice I can give you is, you are your own worst critic. That first summer I wore a bikini after losing weight... no one knew that if the suit bra came untied, my girls would be looking at my toes. I still looked fabulous.

Anyone that loves you enough to see you naked should love you enough to understand how hard you worked to lose the weight and that saggy girls are better than an amputated foot from diabetes or riding around in the scooters at WalMart because you're not ambulatory due to obesity.

Skin when stretched can be stretched to the point where elastin and collagen fibers can be broken. The body will do its best to repair and fill in the damaged areas, but it's never going to be what it was. You have to make the choice between obesity and the damage it does and the visual consequences of that obesity even after the weight issue is gone. Some people do see significant improvement in the hanging skin over time, but many do not. It sucks, but that's the price we pay for having been obese. :frown:
  • Thanks everyone. I will start doing some upper body strength training and see what happens!

I don't want to sound "mean", but your girls are going deflate. Work the pecs for sure, and moisturize the skin a lot. Also, invest in GOOD bras. Gravity will not be kind during this process and a bra with good support is a best friend. Besides, it will make your clothes look and fit better, and give you sexy self confidence.
  • I have a very good bra already, luckily, and I moisturize them every single night before bed. I knew they'd deflate, which is why I am searching for an answer now before they do O.O.
