I found this on Delia Smith's website, it might come in handy when converting the American recipes on here:

CUP CONVERSIONS

1 Cup Flour = 5oz/150g
1 Cup Caster/Granulated Sugar = 8oz/225g
1 Cup Brown Sugar = 6oz/175g
1 Cup Butter/Margerine/Lard = 8oz/225g
1 Cup Sultanas/Raisins = 7oz/200g
1 Cup Currants = 5oz/150g
1 Cup Ground Almonds = 4oz/110g
1 Cup Golden Syrup = 12oz/350g
1 Cup Uncooked Rice = 7oz/200g
1 Cup Grated Cheese = 4oz/110g
1 Stick Butter = 4oz/110g

LIQUID CONVERSIONS

1 tbsp - 15ml or ½ fl oz
1/8 cup = 30ml or 1 fl oz
¼ cup = 60ml or 2 fl oz
½ cup = 120ml or 4 fl oz
1 cup = 240ml or 8 fl oz
1 pint = 480ml or 16 fl oz

Note: A pint isn't always a pint: in British, Australian and often Canadian recipes you'll see an imperial pint listed as 20 fluid ounces. American and some Canadian recipes use the the American pint measurement, which is 16 fluid ounces.
