A few ideas:
1) Ask a nice staff person, preferably during a slow time, to show you some of the machines. Also ask about the classes if you need clarification.
2) Sometimes with new memberships a personal training session is included. If not, it might be a reasonable cost to work with a personal trainer once to get some direction.
3) Some gyms have classes that make you use the free weights and machines.
4) Check out the classes and figure out which ones you like and don't like.0 -
And if you go to a class, try and speak to the instructor before it begins and explain that you are new, and tell them about any injuries or limitations you have - then they will be aware of making sure that suitable options are given.0
