Strawberry Coconut Protein Smoothie - with Spinach

I have been experimenting with finding alternative smoothie recipes that are a good source of protein, fat and spinach in the mornings, instead of my normal oats or omelet. Today I wanted something a little different and coconut + strawberry felt like a good mix.

This smoothie was the best texture and thickness yet. It was so creamy and dense - heavenly!

Into my Ninja, in this order...

5 ice cubes
30 gram vanilla ice cream flavoured whey isolate
2 Tbsp/14g organic coconut flour
70 grams baby spinach
200g frozen strawberries, unsweetened
8oz unsweetened almond milk
10g unsweetened shredded coconut.

Blend all ingredient except the shredded coconut until smooth. Once it's full blended, mix in 10 grams of shredded coconut with a spatula and serve it up in a *very* large vessel

Rough stats with my ingredients - 360 calories, 12g fat, 30g protein, 13g fiber
Totally delicious!

I'll be posting more spinach smoothie experiments in the coming weeks. Part 1-5 can be found here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/891105-almond-mango-coconut-protein-smoothie-with-spinach

This is awesome. I have all ingredients except for the van ice cream whey isolate. Where do I find this or did you just put powder in and ice cream?

I assumed the "van ice cream" was the flavor of the protein powder, no?

It's just the flavour of whey isolate I use. Any vanilla whey isolate powder would do. You can see the one I use here http://dreamingbegins.com/2011/07/07/vanilla-ice-cream-breakfast-shake-clean-eating/

I forgot to mention that I added a little extra water - maybe 2 oz - to help it blend. It's REALLY thick and creamy. Total deliciousness!

I've been doing a slight variation as my post workout shake and I love it.

    2 scoops of chocolate whey
    9 frozen strawberries
    1 cup of spinach
1/2 can of full fat coconut milk
    1/2 cup of almond milk
