Meds - Insulin Resistance - Weight Gain

Im wondering how many of you deal w/ insulin resistance - specifically caused my meds, and not weight or genetics ? My daughter was looking Great after loosing 30 lbs , and after getting off some of her meds ..... then the Dr needed to increase one of her meds. Here come the pounds back ... 10 so far.... She is very upset, especially as we have been so good about working out the last 6 weeks - and just the gain. A dietician suggested insulin resistance caused by the med. Upon researching symptoms, I see she has many - Weight gain, increased hunger, sleepiness after meals, bloating/gas, brain fogginess, depression ..... All ive come up with so far to help ( possibly) is increase fiber and Omega 3s , or a prescription of metformin (?? - anybody weigh in?) . Ideas / Help ??? Thank you !! and Dont Stop Believing :)

    No one, really .....? I wonder how many people have this and dont know it ?? Researching, sounds like a fair # of you do ....

    I don't know much about medically induce IR, but normally IR responds fairly well to increased activity and reduced carb intake (note reduced doesn't mean none).
    I know metformin can help reduce IR in some cases such as pre diabetes or PCOS....but it has it's own set of issues.

    Sorry I can't really be of much help here.
