I fly--alot. All too often on one of the small regional jets up and down PDX to SJC (Portland, San Jose). I'm really tall so I always go for the exit aisle or the bulkhead, otherwise the seat in front is jammed into my knees. Only problem is that these seats have the tray in the arm rest, and for the past two years I've had to ask for my drink in the can without a glass because I couldn't open the tray over my stomach and had no place to put the glass. Not a big deal, but an unpleasant reminder of how fat I'd gotten.

Flew last week on a small plan again, and was in the bulkhead. Looked down at the arm rest and figured I'd give it a shot. It open flat and I had room between the try and my stomach! The attendant must have thought I was daft with the way I was smiling as I asked for a cup with ice.

Congratulations! Every time I get into a regional jet I swear they've made them smaller than the last time I was on one. DH and I try to get Business Class on long-hauls (mostly using miles) because he's a little over 6 feet, but not much you can do when the only option on the flight from your home airport to the hub is RJs. Now, thanks to your hard work, you'll be a little more comfortable on the baby airplanes.
