Calf Cramp- Why?

I did an hour on my home recumbent bike last night. The moment I slowed down, my right calf got a wicked cramp. I've slowly increased my exercise over the last several months, and this is the first time I've gotten a cramp. It feels bruised today and wants to cramp back up while I'm walking/cleaning. I'm keeping up with water, vitamins, and I eat bananas regularly for potassium. What's going on?

I get those cramps too. Sometimes in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, a banana only gives us a fraction of the potassium we need. I try to eat healthy and still find it difficult to meet the RDA, which is 3,500-4,500 depending what source you consult. Let me know if you find a solution here because I have this problem also.0

:drinker: Try taking some magnesium. I had same problem with feet and legs and asked my dr. He recommended magnesium and it worked for me. I gather muscle cramps in legs are a very common problem, from how many I hear say they have this.0
