Any medical or grad students out there?

Hi, I was just wondering if there any other medical o grad students going through what I'm going, which to sum it up is basically, debt, stress, anxiety and lots of sitting down and studying. I'm in third year.
Feel free to add me so we can encourage each other :)

  • Hi there! I'm new to this site and this is my first post :) I'm a PA student currently on my clinical year. I have struggled so much with weight gain since entering the program. To put it on perspective I gained so much weight during my didactic year that I now weigh more compared when I was pregnant with my first child lol. My goal this year is to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight!

I'm applying to med school. I volunteer at a hospital, shadow a physician every week, do clinical research at another hospital's ER, am taking a graduate class, and am finishing up my bio degree this semester.

Oh, and I also work full time.

PhD student in my sixth year of school! I gained almost 30 pounds in the first 4 years ... spent the last two years trying to get that off!

    Hi there,
I'm a fifth year Ph.D. student and mom to a six year old girl. I also teach high school half time (every other day). I gained 20 pounds last year and haven't been very successful at getting it off. Feel free to add me - that goes for both the OP and any other med/grad student here on MFP:)
  • Hey! I am in nursing school with a five year old and husband going to school also. Our house is crazy all the time. Trust me it's hard in our house between working, cleaning, studying, money, stress. I found that make flash cards on quizlet with all my information for school is the best thing ever. If you a ipone or any internet device qquizlet can always go with you. I take my headphones with me to the gym and just listen to my study notes. You have to take care of your self and get sleep and eat properly. I always find at least an hour a day to make it to the gym.

YES! I blame it on stress and lack of sleep :) Glad I found MFP again to keep me in check! I just want to feel healthy and fit again.

I just got accepted into a Certified Nursing Assistant Program, when my son goes to school (he's two right now) I am going to apply for the Nursing Program. I am taking things slow, but I will get there. It's definitely going to require a lot of sacrifice, I am quitting my job so I can take the course (which I am not getting paid for) and going to have minimal income. But it will all be worth it in the long end. I am hoping that my weight loss won't take a hit. I am so close to my goal, I'd be devastated. lol.

I wish you tons of luck =] :flowerforyou:

    Hey,

I'm a fourth yr med student in NC. Feel free to add me! Fourth yr brings a different level of stress than the first three yrs. I am anxiously awaiting Match day. Remember almost EVERYONE who starts med school finishes med school!

I'm a 1st year med student and actually only a day away from my last lecture of my 1st year. Needless to say, I got a lot of catching up to do this summer including some working out and hopefully getting back in shape before 2nd year. 1st year did a number on me so I hope to come into 2nd year a little more prepared for the hit my body will take!
  • Hey! Well I am finishing up my last year of graduate school for Accountancy; however, I am starting to sit for 4 examinations called the CPA. I passed the first part I took; however, I can definitely attest to the stress, anxiety that you must be going through also with medical school. Anyone feel free to add me as my diary is open and try to provide as much motivation to others as I can, while still passing my courses! :)

I'm currently enrolled in a full-time Psych DNP (Doctorate Nurse Practitioner) program, and I work full-time as a nursing supervisor in a hospital. I also have a 7-year-old daughter.
