This week I have gone over my fats by several grams. Everyday I did have had at LEAST 16 grams of the healthy kind. Is that okay? Will it affect my weight loss?

No, healthy fats are good. It's fine to go over on fat as long as you eat adequate protein.0

Fat is good. I'm over on mine almost every day. A deficit is what matters for weight loss.0

Absolutely won't impact your weight loss. Maybe if your macronutrient intake was like 85, 90% fat! But then it wouldn't be because you're getting too much fat, it would be because you're not getting enough protein & carbohydrates.0

your body needs a certain amount of fat just to function properly. Getting 98% of your calories from fat - not good. Going a little over on your fat sometimes - not a problem.0

Yeah, the worry about eating too much fat is kind of old news. All the low-fat this, low-fat everything was the trend for awhile, but if you don't get enough fat in your diet, you actually WILL have other problems. Your body really does need fat.
Also the guidelines for a certain percentage of your daily calories from fat are just guidelines. If you are slightly over one day it is usually balanced out by being slightly under on another day.
But really, don't be afraid of fat. It's not as bad for you as it's been made out to be. And it is often found in foods that are really good for you.0 -

i just skimmed this article and it seemed to be a correct and fairly comprehensive summary for people just interested in knowing what fats to eat, how much, what fats to avoid, and why.0 -
Ha! I was just about to ask a similar question to the OP's! Thanks, OP!0

I've lost weight and body fat % by consistently eating about 65% fat. Good fat, of course like; coconut oil, olive oil, avocado, grass fed beef, real butter...etc.0

Lots of your body uses and is made of fats. All of your cell membranes are fats. The endoplasmic reticulum inside all of your cells is made of fats. Your brain contains a lot of fat. The insulation on your nerve cells is fat. Fats help absorb vitamins. Unless you're eating so much of it that you're not getting enough carbs and proteins then it shouldn't be a problem.0
