Hello! I just joined four days ago after googling "food diary" and boy was I excited to find this!
I am a 37 year old married, working mom of a three year old. Back in 1998 through diet and exercise I was able to go from 213 all the way to 135! Eventually settling around 150. As the years have gone by and my diet went back to the way it was, and I stopped exercising-through marriage (2004), a high stress job (I went from teacher to elementary principal) and pregnancy the weight slowly but surely has crept back on. I am now back to the exact starting point of 213.
During the time I would notice and say that I was going to start back "on the right track" but did not. Even had a "fluke" occur in 2008 when I first got my new job where i really changed nothing at all and I was down from about 201 to 175 -a nice size 10. That lasted oh maybe a year. As mentioned I am back up to 213.5 to be exact.
When I stepped on the scale Saturday and realized what had happened and I saw that number something in my clicked. I put on my sweats and used the gym membership I had but had not used for YEARS. I was disheartened with how out of shape I was but I do know that slow and steady wins the race. I am starting small with just exercise bike and treadmill along with a goal of four times a week.
I am looking forward to my weigh in Saturday. I have been eating right-I know only 4 days but for me every day is an accomplishment. I keep trying to pull forward what helped me more than 10 years ago. I remember writing down my food and using a calorie book but I LOVE how far things have come-this website is a great thing...
Well, thanks for reading. I'm glad to be here. I've done this before. I want to do it again!!!! No I WILL Do it again!
