Bisquick Sausage Balls-healthy alternative?

Over the holidays my mom made sausage balls with Bisquick, cheddar cheese and sausage. Yum! Not healthy! Does anyone have a recipe for a healthier alternative? I figured you could sub turkey sausage but I didn't know if there would be enough fat to hold it all together once it's baked . Thank you!
