Strapless HRM advice

I am looking for any advice on brand or model of Strapless HRM to purchase.
I see that the Mio Active can plug into MFP - has anyone used this feature?
Or an Epulse, Timex, or Omron?
I want to be able to easily see my HR at any time. I want to be able to measure calories burned during a specific exercise period - running, MMA DVD's, swimming, horseback riding. Anybody use one swimming?
I would also like one that has the capability to measure a full day's calorie expenditure. Granted I would probably only do that for a few days to get a feel for it but it seems like a nice feature as I am very active taking care of horses that I don't log as exercise. I also want timer functions. I do not need the calorie trackers as I'll just do that on mfp.
How accurate are the distance and speed functions? That would be helpful as I run on an indoor track (so GPS doesn't work) and it is 10 laps for a mile so over the course of my 30 laps I loose count a lot...
For budget, I don't mind paying for quality if it works but I don't want to waste money on a "cheap" model that doesn't really work well.
Thanks in advance!
Amy

If you want it for all day expenditure then a HRM is no good. Look at the Bodymedia Fit0
