Exercise Every Day?

Hello all nice to meet you ^^

I have been on and off this site a while, and never really lost much weight, but have now decided enough is enough and I've taken the plunge and gone back to the gym.
I have lost about 5lb in the past two weeks, even though I've loosely been following the calories, and no exercise.
best
I joined the gym and went today, doing an introductory 40 min work out on the cross trainer.
I am hoping to go most days. But I was wondering- is it best to do 3 or 4 longer, high intensity work outs in the week? Or is it better to do 5-6 workouts but vary them in time (maybe 2 at 20 min and 3 at 40-50 min each).

I actually like going to the gym and would be happy enough to go most days, but wasn't sure what was best for my body.

Thanks!

Rest is very important, that's when your muscles grow. 2 days rest in a row is ideal. Plus if you go every day you may end up getting burned out and stop going, or worse injuring yourself.
