I've looked in help and my profile but can't seem to find how to get notifications of replies to my posts. Any help would be appreciated.

settings only handle:

Sends you a message
Sends you a friend request
Invites you to a group
Accepts your friend request
Accepts your group invitation
Posts a comment on your profile
Comments on your blog post
Comments on your status update

so far as I've seen.
So, if you find out how to know when someone responds to your message board thread - can you please post what you find out - i'd love to know that too. i'd be more active on the boards if I could get instant replies and not have to remember to go back and check lol.
